Shaping the future of the land between Didcot and East Hagbourne
Welcome to the consultation website for our proposals to shape the future of the land between Didcot and East Hagbourne.
We understand that this place matters to people and we’re holding a three-week consultation between 28th September to 16th October 2026 to introduce our plans and give people the opportunity to have their say.
Our proposals have been shaped by balancing the need for new homes and recognising the importance of the land between Didcot and East Hagbourne. They seek to maintain a clear sense of separation between the two communities by retaining substantial areas of open space, improving access to local green space and helping to deliver the homes that the next generation of residents of South Oxfordshire needs.
Nurton Developments is bringing forward a landscape-led proposal that responds to the local setting, takes account of important views, strengthens planting and biodiversity, and locates new homes within defined development areas alongside supporting infrastructure and new public open space.
We’re keen to hear your views and feedback during this consultation before we submit an outline planning application to South Oxfordshire District Council later this year where we’ll seek permission for the overall principle of our proposals.
Subject to receiving planning permission, more detailed planning applications would be submitted at a later stage of the planning process. This is known as Reserved Matters and covers things like the final layout and detailed designs of the houses.
