Access and infrastructure

Our site has been identified as a suitable and sustainable place to build new homes owing to its existing proximity to local roads, footpaths and amenities such as Didcot railway station, shops, schools and other community amenities.

Existing walking routes, including the public right of way through the site, would be retained and improved as part of a wider network of pedestrian and cycle connections.

Our proposals will improve the existing right of way through the site

We’re proposing to deliver an interconnected network of accessible routes through our site alongside carefully considered street infrastructure which connects the new homes with New Road and the wider road network. The main access into the site will be part of the initial outline planning application.

Specific details of elements such as detailed access arrangements within the site will come forward at a later stage of the planning process known as Reserved Matters, subject to us receiving planning permission. As we’re at such an early stage of planning this consultation is a good opportunity for you to help us shape the final proposals.

We’re working with the local highways authority (Oxfordshire County Council) to improve transport connections and maximise options for sustainable travel, such as walking, wheeling and cycling.

Please let us know your comments about the types of new connections that you think are needed in the area and the types of facilities and infrastructure that you think the local community could benefit from.
